Nail Romance - Hello Darling Fiesta

I adore these party polishes from Hello Darling.

These three limited edition shades are inspired by Hello Darling founder, Heather, as she’s celebrating her 30th birthday this year. They are part of the Hello Darling subscription and only a few bottles were released for separate sale.

Delivery Darling is a fantastic service where you receive 3 new polishes every month for only $39.95. Each of these party polishes is $35.95 to purchase separately so that is an amazing saving. Plus how much fun is it to get new polish in the the post every month! It’s a great gift idea for Christmas.

Fiesta is my favourite of the three party polishes. It’s a vibrant red with a rasberry glitter. All of these shades are extremely long wearing and opaque in one coat.

Fisso is a stunning sea green – turquoise glitter and is the perfect colour on it’s own or looks amazing layered over navy polish.

Fête is a magenta glitter and it divine on. It’s perfect as a feature nail or on your toes.

Head to Hello Darling to order your polishes and I’d be dropping some hints for a Delivery Darling subscription for Christmas.

Step-by-step

It’s really a simple three step process to create these glitter textured nails. Just

  1. Paint
  2. Dip
  3. Brush

Style tips

  • Glitter can be messy so do your nails over a piece of paper so you can clean up easily. Even better, do your nails outside!
  • Seal the glitter with a topcoat, though I found it wore ok without it. You’ll have less glitter fall if you use a topcoat.

How to get the look

  1. First I painted my nails with YSL polish in Fuchsia Cubiste (8) which is a gorgeous pinky red. It’s opaque in one coat and I’m wearing two thin coats.
  2. I paint my ring finger last and dip it into the Hello Darling Glitterbug in Unicornicopia. (Love that name!)
  3. Use the anti-static brush that comes with the Glitterbug to pat down the glitter and tidy up around and under your nail.
  4. Seal with a topcoat. I used Hello Darling Over top coat.

Nail-spiration: Nail Stickers

The cheat’s way to nail art, nail stickers give you the look of patterned nails with minimum effort.

I first discovered nail stickers in Sephora earlier this year. I am always doing my nails at the last minute and I ran out of time to paint my nails before heading to a friend’s wedding. I put a packet of nail stickers in my handbag and ran out the door. I ended up doing my nails as I walked to the wedding ceremony and I took the above photo at the reception.

Yes, these stickers are so easy you can put them on walking but I suggest sitting down for the first attempt.

Nail Sticker Shopping Guide

Sally Hansen and Sephora are my tried and tested nail stickers. I love the look of the Butter London range and need to try these very soon.

Tips for applying nail stickers

  • File and buff your nails before applying the stickers. Make sure your hands and nails are clean.
  • Before starting, check the size of the stickers to determine which will fit your nail. I like to lay them out so I know which is for each finger.
  • Don’t fret if it’s not straight first time. The stickers can be lifted and repositioned two or three times.

Nail stickers aren’t cheap when compared to the price of nail polish, but you get a salon finish for a fraction of the salon price. They’re quick, there’s no drying time and you can do them at the last minute for a professional finish.
